AUBG Programming Competition Invitation

Dear All,

The Computer Science Department would like to invite you to join us for this year's AUBG programming competition, which will be held between 7:30 pm and 10:30 pm on March 23rd, 2010. We will all meet in the COS lab.

GENERAL INFORMATION
* Problems are given by professor Kelevedjiev
* Difficulty is similar to that of the problems for past years (available at http://www.aubg.bg/cssu/)
* The first three contestants from the final standings will represent AUBG on the Bulgarian National Championship for university students.
* Although participation is open to anyone, the difficulty of the problems suggests good command of C or C++ programming languages and a strong algorithmic background. Experience with high-school programming competitions and/or the AUBG course in Algorithms is not necessary, but it will make things a lot easier for you.

COMPETITION RULES
* the programming environment allowed is Visual Studio 2008 (version installed in the COS lab)
* the participants are expected to create console applications

* program input is read from the keyboard (standard input), output is written to the screen (standard output, no files are used)
* there are 3 problems. Each problem is tested with 10 test data sets and 10 points are awarded for each correct test data set. Therefore, the maximum score for a problem is 100 points. You will have 3 hours to solve the problems.
* for each problem, you submit your source file (.c or .cpp) and executable (.exe) file, named as specified in your instructions.
* during the competition, there will be no local network or internet. You are not allowed to use any printed, electronic or human materials other than those provided to you (which are compiler, problems and your questor).
